Problems with My SD Card and Card Reader

I recently bought an old Sony Cyber-shot camera from eBay and have the correct SD card for it, which is a Memory Stick Pro Duo MagicGate. I also have a specific card reader for this memory card. When I plug the USB card reader into my PC, I hear the connecting sound and the light on the reader turns on, but sometimes the card doesn't show up on my computer at all, or it only appears for a moment. When I try to click on it, it says there's no disk present, and in Disk Manager, it shows 0MB. I've already tried quite a few solutions I found online, but nothing seems to work. I'm hoping someone here can assist me with this issue.

It sounds like the card might be defective, the reader could be faulty, or there just might be some compatibility issues. If you have a nearby shop that specializes in photography gear, it might be worth stopping by. They should have a proper reader or a compatible card to help figure out if it’s the card or the reader that’s causing the issue.

That's solid advice! Sometimes the old tech can be finicky; testing it with equipment that’s known to work can really help narrow down the problem.
