Questions After Installing Linux Mint

I just installed Linux Mint over Windows 11 yesterday, but I had a little hiccup that I'll mention later. I have a few random questions that I hope someone can help with:

1) I left my Outlook account (which I only used for Windows) signed in when I switched. Should I log in just to close the account, or is it not worth the trouble?

2) Are there keyboard shortcuts in Mint? If so, can someone point me to where I can find a list of them?

3) I'm looking for alternatives to the software I used on Windows (not just Microsoft apps). What's the best way to find new apps here? Is there a specific store or location to check out?

Thanks for any help!

P.S. My installation had a Grub issue; it booted to a black screen with a Grub prompt. I ended up needing to use the BIOS to boot from the USB, then ran the boot repair as an admin to fix it before rebooting without the USB. Everything's good now!

Yes, in Mint you can create your own shortcuts! Just go to the application menu, pick Keyboard, and then click on Shortcuts to see and customize them. If you need specific app alternatives, feel free to ask here! Mint's Software Manager is super user-friendly, but you can also explore other options like AppImage, which you can find on official pages.

3. If you're looking for app replacements, a great site to check out is AlternativeTo.net. You can find alternatives and then look them up in Mint's Software Manager, which acts as the store for your apps.

1. If you don't want an account with Microsoft anymore, it’s probably a good idea to sign in and close it down. Otherwise, you can just leave it as is.

2. When you mention quick keys, are you referring to keyboard shortcuts? Yes, they have shortcuts in Mint! You can look up what’s set by default and also create custom ones by navigating to the settings menu.

Here are some useful keyboard shortcuts in Mint that might help you:

- **Ctrl + A**: Select all
- **Ctrl + C**: Copy
- **Ctrl + V**: Paste
- **Super + D**: Show Desktop
- **Alt + Tab**: Cycle through open windows

This should get you started with navigation and shortcuts!
