Hey everyone! I'm making the jump from Windows 11 to Linux because I'm just fed up with it. I've had a ton of problems that I think are mostly user error, making my PC nearly unusable. I've got an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti and I've heard that NVIDIA support on Linux can be a bit tricky. I've been looking at Fedora, but I'm open to suggestions on other distros that might suit me better. What I really need is something that works out of the box but also has room for customization, though maybe the customization part isn't too big of a deal since it's Linux after all. I'm planning to get a USB stick tomorrow to start the installation, so I'd love to hear your recommendations and any tips for a smooth transition! Thanks a bunch!

If you want a Linux experience similar to Windows, Linux Mint is a solid choice. On the other hand, if you're looking for something more productivity-focused, Fedora might be perfect. For the latest features, you could try OpenSUSE Tumbleweed. Just keep in mind, the customization potential really depends on the desktop environment you pick. KDE Plasma is super customizable, but a bit resource-hungry, while XFCE is lightweight and user-friendly!
Honestly, your desktop environment is going to play a bigger role in your experience than the distro itself. Most mainstream distros support NVIDIA GPUs quite well nowadays, so it's not as daunting as it used to be. Backup your important files, and when installing, consider setting up your /home directory on a separate partition. This makes it easier to switch distros later on!
