Hey folks! I'm in the market for a solid ergonomic chair for my work setup, ideally keeping it under $1000. I spend around 12 hours a day sitting for work and regular computer use, so I'm looking for something that offers great durability and comfort.
Here are a few features that are important to me:
- Excellent lumbar support
- Comfort for long periods
- Adjustable armrests
- Breathable material would be a plus
I've seen a lot of recommendations for brands like Herman Miller and Steelcase, but I'm curious about specific models that are worth the investment in this price range. If you have any chairs you swear by or suggestions, I'd love to hear them! Thanks for your help.

I highly recommend the Herman Miller Aeron, especially if you can find a refurbished model. I've been using one at both home and work, and it’s truly transformed my sitting experience. My back and bottom feel great even after long hours!
You really can't go wrong with Herman Miller chairs. They have some premium options, like those partnered with Logitech for gaming, but they can get pricey (think $1000-$2500 for new ones). However, you can find great deals on used chairs at office liquidation stores. I scored a used Sayl chair for just $200, and it's seriously high quality compared to basic office chairs. Plus, parts for these chairs are easily available online, which is handy for repairs! Definitely check Facebook Marketplace too; you might find some Aeron chairs going for a steal, often under $600 with plenty of features.
That's a solid option! I'm keen on getting a refurbished Aeron myself, heard they work wonders for back support!

+1 for office liquidation places! I got my Aeron B for $350 about 7 years ago, and honestly, it's been a game changer. No back pain at all! Just a heads up though, it doesn’t have a headrest, but it’s perfect for my work setup.
