I've already got my RAM and CPU sorted, but I'm essentially overhauling the whole system. I'm particularly interested in finding a good motherboard and SSD, but the ones I'm looking at are a bit on the expensive side. I want to keep my costs down where possible because I know this build is going to be a significant investment. My PC will be used mainly for gaming at home, but I'll also use it for productivity tasks like school work. Any suggestions you have would be super helpful!

It’s a solid choice! And for the SSD, looks like you're on the right track with a good one in mind.
You might want to consider a B650 motherboard. They tend to be cheaper and still offer solid performance. Just a thought!
I’m looking at the same thing, and it seems like some mini ITX B650 boards are priced the same or even higher than B850 options!
I was checking those out too, but I picked the B850 since it had a higher number. Do you know what the key differences are?
