I'm seeking suggestions for a simple environment sensor to keep tabs on a small communications room. Our previous device, a watchdog 15, has let us down. I'm looking for something comparable that can monitor temperature, humidity, and similar basic parameters. Any advice?

If you have a UPS with a network card, they often support a simple sensor attachment. Plus, many server out-of-band management systems can provide basic ambient or intake air temperature readings, so you might want to check that out!
We use a really straightforward device called the STE2 Lite. It monitors both temperature and humidity, sends notifications, and covers all the basics without breaking the bank. You can set it up in about 30 minutes, which is a bonus!
