I recently bought a new PC and did some research on my motherboard, finding out that the VRM temperature can get as high as 128°C with the Ryzen 9 9950X. I have OCD about this kind of stuff, so I'm feeling quite worried. Here are my specs:
- Motherboard: Asus Prime B850M-K
- CPU: Ryzen 5 7500F
- Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin SE
- RAM: T-Force Delta 16GB 6000MHz (I overclocked CL to 36; planning to buy another 16GB stick)
- GPU: RX590 (looking to upgrade to RX9060XT soon)
- Case: Aerocool B508A Flow White
- I also enabled PBO.
One thing that's adding to my anxiety is that I live in a very hot country with temperatures reaching 44°C and I don't have AC. Any advice?

Honestly, you shouldn’t worry too much. The Ryzen 9 9950X does draw significantly more power than your Ryzen 5 7500F— think around 200W more at peak. Your setup should be fine for what you’re running. Just keep an eye on temps during heavy use, but you shouldn’t hit any issues.
Budget motherboards can manage just fine; they may struggle with high-end CPUs but shouldn’t cause issues unless you're looking at something like the Ryzen 9 9800X3D. If you're not planning a super high-end upgrade, you should be okay!
My plan is to upgrade to Ryzen 7 eventually; I just worry since my board lacks a VRM temperature sensor.
To clarify, the Ryzen 9 9950X maxes out power at around 230W, while your Ryzen 5 7500F only reaches about 88W. They’re quite different, so don’t panic too much about temperatures right now.
Thanks! My main anxiety stems from the lack of a VRM sensor and this crazy summer heat!

I appreciate that! My main issue is I don’t have a sensor for the VRM temperature, and the heat here is intense without AC.
