I'm deciding between buying a laptop for roughly ₹1,10,000 during the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale or building a desktop PC with a similar budget. Portability isn't important to me, but I'm wondering whether rising component prices make a laptop the better deal right now. I'm new to building PCs, so I'd also appreciate guidance on suitable components within about $1,165.

A laptop usually costs more than a desktop with comparable performance because you’re also paying for the screen, battery, compact design, and portability. If the computer will stay in one place, building a PC makes more sense and should also give you better upgrade options over time. Compare current prices carefully, but don’t choose a laptop solely because component prices are temporarily rising.
Since you don’t need portability, a desktop PC is probably the better choice. You’ll generally get more performance for the same money than with a laptop, and upgrading or repairing individual parts is much easier. Prioritize the CPU, graphics card, power supply, cooling, and storage instead of spending extra on RGB lighting or other aesthetics.
