I'm looking to get a gaming PC and I'm working with a budget of around $1,000, though I might be able to stretch it a bit. As a college student, I'm trying to be mindful of my expenses. Is it generally cheaper to build a PC myself or should I just buy a prebuilt one? If building is the better option, will I be able to find good tutorials on YouTube to guide me? I also have a friend who can help, but they have no experience with this either.

Building it yourself is typically cheaper! Plus, you get better quality since you can pick the parts you want. If you want to save money, going DIY is the best bet.
You can definitely find plenty of tutorials on YouTube. It might take you a day to build it since it's your first time, but it’s like a big Lego set! Just follow the guides, and you'll be fine.
Thanks for the tip!
At this budget, you can get better performance by assembling it yourself. Prebuilts are convenient, but with your budget, you can choose better parts and get a faster PC.
This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks!
Honestly, it can depend on where you shop. Sometimes local stores have great deals that might make buying a prebuilt better, but generally, DIY gives you more control. Just make sure to check what vendors are available to you.
I'd recommend watching Linus Tech Tips on YouTube for some great PC building tutorials. For your build, aim for an AMD or Intel setup based on your preference and budget. Just take your time, and you'll learn a lot in the process!
Thank you very much!
