I'm looking to upgrade my PC, which isn't in the best shape right now, but funds are a bit tight. I'm debating whether I should buy a new GPU right away or wait until after Christmas when I hope prices might drop. I'd like to stick with NVIDIA but I'm open to other options if needed. My current specs include an Intel Core i5 12400F, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, which isn't cutting it anymore. I'm considering a GPU that costs around $300 to $400, but I could stretch my budget a bit if necessary. I also have plans to upgrade my CPU in the future, specifically the x3d model, and that will require a new motherboard and RAM. However, I'm focused on getting a decent GPU at this stage, ideally something that works well with my current setup. I'm okay with buying used as long as it's from a reliable source.

Your 12400F processor isn't bad! It can easily handle a 9060 XT for 1080p gaming, possibly even 1440p. But if you're putting that much cash into a GPU now, you might want to think about your CPU upgrade as well. It might be more balanced to grab a more budget-friendly GPU now and save for a better CPU down the line.
Totally agree! Balancing your upgrades is key, or else you'll end up with a mismatch.
I'd suggest looking into the Intel Arc B580 as it’s the best value GPU right now! Just keep an eye out for deals on the 9060 XT 16GB. Avoid 8GB cards if you plan to keep it for a while!
Absolutely! The B580 can give you decent performance without breaking the bank.
Definitely consider the 9060 XT. Right now, you might find a 16GB version just under $400, which is a great deal! They perform better than some Intel Arc cards, which are priced lower but have their limitations. Make sure whatever you choose has enough VRAM if you're planning to use it for more demanding games.
Agreed! It’s a good time to buy if you see a solid deal, especially before any price spikes. Just keep your eyes peeled for quality options!
Yeah, and try to get the 16GB model if you can. It'll last you longer in the future!
If you're looking for something now, the 9060 XT is a solid option, especially if you can find it new. A used 3080 or 4070 would be a huge upgrade from what you have currently. Your GTX 1650 is really holding you back, and any of these options would seriously improve your gaming experience. Just a heads up, some low-end new cards will leave your current one in the dust!
Grab that GPU sooner rather than later! Prices are expected to go up due to a memory chip shortage, so it’s better to get something before it gets pricier. Trust me, the wait might not be worth it!

That's a good point! Some mid-range CPUs could handle most gaming needs well enough for now.
