I'm considering purchasing RAM for my gaming PC, specifically the Patriot Viper Venom 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5 6000 CL30, which is currently priced at $190. My situation doesn't allow me to build my PC right now, but I've heard that prices may increase due to the rising demand from AI. Is it better to buy the RAM now, or should I wait and see if prices go down? I'm also open to other RAM suggestions if anyone has them.

While no one can predict the future with certainty, I believe prices are likely to continue rising for a while. Once there's a shortage, they usually don't drop back to previous lows because companies strive to maintain higher profit margins. If you need RAM soon, it might be wiser to buy it now rather than risk paying even more later.
There's no clear answer since it depends on various factors, like the growth of AI data centers and manufacturing capabilities. It's hard to accurately forecast how the market will react, so buying now might be the best route if you can swing it.
Good grief. I’m all for developing technology, but this AI stuff is going out of control. I think I'm going to go ahead and buy it. Thanks for your input!
In a recent discussion, someone shared a price chart from the last RAM price spike. It took about 2.5 years for prices to return to normal after that spike. Just something to keep in mind if you're considering waiting it out!
Typically, RAM prices will eventually dip after a spike, but it could take months or even years for that to happen. Right now, prices are on the rise, so if you really need RAM for your needs, getting it now is likely the safest bet.
Will do! Price forecasting is near impossible. Hopefully my living situation will improve in a few months. But I think I'd regret spending too much later more than if I get it now. Thanks for your help!

What do billionaires even do with all that money? Do they just like seeing how much they can collect? Yikes.
