Should I Choose a Gold or Bronze Power Supply for My First PC Build?

I'm building my first PC and recently bought most components, including CPU, motherboard, and RAM. I ordered the MSI MAG A750BN Bronze power supply, but I'm wondering if I should have opted for the Gold version instead. I've read mixed opinions online about how the quality of the power supply is more important than its certification rating. Given that I've invested about $1500 total in my build, I'm worried about the potential risks of using a Bronze rated PSU. What do you all think? Here's my build for reference: CPU is Ryzen 7 9700X, GPU is Asus PRIME GeForce RTX 5070, and I'm using a Samsung 990 Pro SSD.

That MSI PSU isn't the best option; it's had some issues. You should definitely consider upgrading. Like TechWhiz123 mentioned, there are better alternatives available for not much more money. I'd recommend either the MSI MPG or a solid Gold rated unit if you can manage the slight budget increase.

I actually looked at the A750GL earlier. Reviews are pretty good but I couldn’t find it on the PSU tier list. Do you think it’s still worth it?

After reading all the comments here, I decided to cancel my order for both the Bronze PSU and the Samsung SSD. I opted for a different SSD model and upgraded to the A750GL. It's not A-tier, but it feels like a wiser choice for my budget. Always better to play it safe with a build like this.

Honestly, the Bronze vs Gold rating doesn't tell the whole story. There are plenty of low-quality Gold PSUs out there. The A750BN is rated Tier C, which I think is lacking for a build of this price. If I were you, I'd look for something of higher quality, like a Tier A unit. There's one that’s just $14 more and offers better efficiency and wattage. Check it out!

Isn't 850W overkill for a build like this? I thought 750W would be plenty based on what PCPartPicker suggested.
