I'm on a tight budget as I plan to upgrade to a 1440p monitor, add another 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and probably get a 9070XT along with a new PSU. I'm trying to decide if a surge protector strip would be sufficient for protecting my PC, or if I should invest in a UPS and delay my upgrade for a few more months. What do you think?

If your main goal is just to protect your hardware from power surges, a surge protector should suffice. However, if you also want to keep your PC running during outages, then a UPS would be the way to go. It really depends on what issues you’re trying to address.
I recommend going for a UPS. While a surge protector will shield your equipment from spikes, it won't provide power during blackouts. If your budget allows, getting a UPS could offer better long-term security for your components.
