I'm building my first gaming PC and planning to use the Ryzen 7 9850X3D along with some expo RAM I've already purchased. However, I've recently come across some videos claiming that the upcoming Windows version will require an NPU with 40+ TOPS. Since the Ryzen X3D chips don't have NPUs, I'm wondering if I should stick with this CPU or switch to something like the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K. I'm a bit concerned about not being able to use XMP since I'm already invested in the expo RAM. What do you all think I should do?

I wouldn't worry too much about those NPU rumors. Right now, only a tiny fraction of PCs have NPUs, so it would be crazy for Microsoft to force everyone to upgrade to that for a new OS. There's no way they're going to limit their user base like that. Stick with the Ryzen and focus on your gaming setup!
Just to clarify, I think the whole Windows 12 thing is just speculation at this point. Windows 11 already has its issues, so do you really want to jump into something that hasn’t even been officially announced? And honestly, if you're looking at AMD, the 9800X3D might be a better choice than the 9850X3D, considering performance and price.
Yeah, exactly! Microsoft knows that limiting access to such a small market would be a disaster. Plus, Ryzen chips are great for gaming even without an NPU.
