I'm building my first PC and I've been planning for about six months. Now I'm stuck deciding between the 3060 12GB and the 4060 8GB. I visited MicroCenter and spoke to someone who mentioned that the 3060 is better for 1440p gaming, while the 4060 could give me more frames at 1080p. I'm primarily playing games like War Thunder, Fortnite, Call of Duty: Warzone, and some random $5 Steam games.

I totally get wanting to stick with Nvidia for your first build. The 3060 can handle 1440p gaming better because of the extra VRAM. If you're playing more demanding titles at higher resolutions, that might be something to consider.
If you're aiming for performance, the 4060 is about 15-20% faster than the 3060, but keep in mind it only has 8GB of VRAM. For 1440p, you might run into issues with RAM on the 4060. If you can, check out a 6700 XT; it could be a better balance for the price. But yeah, the 4060 is better for frames at 1080p.
Exactly! Also, check out this video that really breaks it down: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KuxORuIQGI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KuxORuIQGI)!
