Should I Choose the 5070 or the 9070 XT?

Hey everyone, I'm on the verge of buying a new graphics card and I need your input. I'm deciding between a 9070 XT at its MSRP of $600 and a 5070 that's on sale for just $480. The 9070 XT has more VRAM and performs around 15-25% better in most games, but saving $120 is a pretty big deal too. The sale on the 5070 ends today, so I need to make a choice soon. I've typically avoided Nvidia due to their high prices, but I can't ignore how much more reasonable the 5070's price seems for its performance. There's also a 9070 non-XT available for $540, but that doesn't feel like a good enough trade-off. For context, I'm currently using a 2080 Super. Any advice?

If SteamOS matters to you, leaning towards AMD with the 5070 could be a smart move, especially with the additional VRAM options available.

If you're gaming at 1440p, the $120 extra for the 9070 XT is worth it. The performance difference is noticeable.

You've got the info already! It's really about your priorities. Do you value the 15-25% performance boost, or is the $120 savings more appealing to you? Only you can decide what’s best for your situation.

If you’re working with a tight budget, the 5070 is a solid deal. But if you can afford the 9070 XT, I’d say go for it! Those extra frames can really enhance your experience, especially with demanding games.

I hear you! While most of my games run well, these new UE5 titles are tougher, and I’m also considering the future performance needs.

Check out how both cards perform in the specific games you play. This choice ultimately boils down to how much you value performance versus price.
