I'm planning to upgrade to a 49-inch Phillips OLED monitor with a refresh rate of 144Hz and a resolution of 5120x1440p. I'm considering two graphics cards: the RX 9070 XT Nitro+ priced around $700, and the RTX 5080 Aorus Master for about $1300. I've ruled out the 5070 Ti since it's roughly $1150 and doesn't seem worth it for me. What do you think?

Honestly, you can't go wrong with either, but getting the RX 9070 XT for $700 is a much better deal compared to the $1300 for the 5080.
While both cards are solid, I'd skip the Nitro variant of the 9070 XT and look for a different brand.
If you don’t need CUDA or TensorRT, AMD cards like the 9070 XT can handle most tasks quite well.
The RX 9070 XT is cheaper and has FSR 4, which can outperform DLSS in some situations. Sure, it lacks raw power, but it’s worth considering.
I'm leaning toward the 9070 XT too since I don't use ray tracing, and the price difference is significant.
In which games has FSR 4 been better than DLSS?
The RX 9070 XT is a much better value; the RTX 5080 is only about 15% faster.
Check out the benchmarks for both cards at that resolution. The RTX 5080 isn't necessarily twice as fast as the RX 9070 XT, so spending twice the money might not be worth it.
Yeah, that makes sense. Thanks for the tip!
The price of the 5080 and Ti feels like it’s back to launch prices. Only buy it if you really need that kind of performance.
For that high resolution, I’d suggest going with the RTX 5080. You'll get the most out of it with that display.
I have the RX 9070 XT, and I can vouch for its performance. It's a fantastic card, so I’d go for it!

Exactly! I could afford both, but the price difference makes me question the 5080's value.
