Hey everyone! I've got a GTX 3070 right now, but I'm planning to upgrade to a 5070 in the future. I'm trying to figure out if the Ryzen 9600X is powerful enough for gaming, specifically aiming for over 200 FPS in Warzone at 1080p. Should I go for the 9600X, or is the 9700X a better choice? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Honestly, Warzone really benefits from higher core counts, so the 9700X could give you that extra edge at 1080p. But if you’re on a tight budget, the 9600X is still a solid pick. Just be careful not to spend too much on something that might not make a huge difference for gaming, considering most titles perform about the same.
Based on some benchmarks, the 9600X and 9700X perform quite similarly in many games. If you check out some recent comparisons, you’ll see they often end up around the same FPS. Just keep in mind, though, the 9700X has 8 cores which might help a bit, especially for future games. Just don’t overpay for a small boost in performance! It might not be worth it unless you're going for maximum future-proofing.
Thanks for that! Is one of them more 'future-proof' compared to the other?
Gotcha. I’m all about that budget-friendly build!
If you're really pushing more than 200 FPS, going for a better CPU like the 9700X might be the way to go, especially at high settings in Warzone. But if the price difference is significant, just balance it out with your budget. I’m currently gaming at higher resolutions, and I’m glad I went with the 9700X instead of the more expensive options. It suits my needs just fine! Good luck!
Thanks for your input!
