Hey everyone! I'm considering switching my laptop from Windows to Linux because it's not very powerful and I'm facing a lot of overhead issues. I'm thinking about trying Xubuntu since it's known for its speed and performance. My laptop has only 8GB of RAM, so I'm looking for advice and thoughts on making this transition.

You might want to consider using Linux Mint or KDE Neon. Mint is pretty popular and user-friendly! I've installed Linux Mint on my old HP DV6, and it's running perfectly.
I’d recommend trying KDE Neon too, but just remember it's more of a development tool rather than a stable option for daily use.
If the software you need is available on Linux or has good alternatives, go for it! Xubuntu can be a great starting point to see if you like the Linux experience.

Mint is a great choice! I love how straightforward it is.
