Should I Go for Liquid Cooling with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D?

Hey everyone! I'm building a new PC featuring the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and the shop recommended that I use a liquid cooler, specifically the Arctic Liquid Freezer Pro III 240. To be honest, I'm not very experienced with liquid cooling and have always used Noctua air coolers in my setups, like the U12S, which should fit my case nicely. I'm curious about why they strongly suggested a liquid cooler and would love to hear your experiences with the Arctic Liquid Freezer Pro 240. Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure why the shop is pushing the liquid cooler. Unless you have specific advanced cooling needs, you really don’t need water cooling. Many people are happy with coolers like the Peerless Assassin or Phantom Spirit, which are dual tower air coolers and generally priced around $50-$60. If you're a Noctua fan, go for it! Just know that air cooling will work perfectly fine here.

I hadn't thought about the Peerless Assassin because I was leaning heavily on Noctua, but it looks promising and is about the same price as the liquid cooler. Since Noctua prices have gone up recently, I think I’ll reach out to the shop and ask about the Thermalright instead. Thanks for the suggestion!

Honestly, there's really no need for an AIO cooler for that CPU unless you're doing it for looks or the shop's profit margins. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is pretty easy to cool, and a good air cooler like the U12S would do just fine.

Any decent dual tower air cooler can handle the 7800X3D without issues. For instance, I have a 280mm AIO that can hit up to 83C under heavy load, which aligns with others' experiences. It's not crucial to go liquid here.
