I'm new to this whole PC building thing and I've got a bit of a dilemma. I'm planning to install some heavy games, but I'm torn between using a 128GB SSD for my operating system or going with a 512GB HDD. I've read that using an SSD can boost load speeds, but I really care more about performance. Can anyone provide guidance on whether it's better to install the OS on the SSD and keep games on the HDD, or should I just install everything on the HDD?

Always go for the SSD for your OS. It dramatically increases load times for everything, including games. A 128GB SSD can work for just the OS but you might hit a wall with space, especially as Windows updates. If you can, aim for at least a 1TB SSD for both your OS and games to ensure everything runs smoothly and loads quickly.
Using the SSD for your OS is pretty much a must. For heavy games that stream assets in real time, like open-world titles, an HDD just won't cut it if you want a smooth experience. Those games can really lag if they’re installed on a slower drive. If budget allows, go bigger on the SSD if you can swing it!
Yeah, my mate had issues with load times until he upgraded to a larger SSD. But it's a game changer!
You should definitely use the SSD for your OS. An SSD is much faster than an HDD, and having your operating system on there will make your system feel snappy and responsive. Modern games tend to load very slowly on an HDD, and you'll definitely notice a difference in performance. For general use and gaming, SSDs are just the way to go, even if it's a bit smaller. You'll appreciate the speed!
Honestly, 128GB for an OS is pretty small by today's standards. An SSD is perfect for speed, but if you're planning to install games, you might want to get at least a 1TB SSD, since many modern games are huge. Use the HDD for backups or storing files you don’t access all the time. Trust me, having a larger SSD down the line will be worth it!
Totally agree! Having extra space on the SSD prevents performance drop-offs as well, since you want to keep some space free. You don't want to push it to its limits!

That makes sense! I’d rather have smooth gameplay than deal with annoying load times!
