Should I invest in a PCIE 5.0 GPU Slot Motherboard for my new build?

I'm in the process of building a new PC and have already purchased a 5070ti GPU. I'm considering a B650 motherboard but I'm on the fence about whether to splurge on the Rog Strix B650E-F, which features a PCIE 5.0 GPU slot, instead of going for the more affordable Rog Strix B650-A with a PCIE 4.0 slot. Is it worth paying the extra cost for the newer technology?

Honestly, PCIe 4.0 is likely going to be more than sufficient for quite a while. Most users won’t notice a significant difference for typical gaming or tasks. It’s a solid choice if you want to save some cash!

If you're planning to use your setup for a long time, going with the PCIe 5.0 board could be a good call. Even though you won't see a big performance boost right now, having the latest tech may pay off in the future. Just keep in mind, if the price difference is over $50, it might not be worth it.

I've been comparing prices too. If you find a B850 motherboard with PCIe 5.0 at a good price, it might be worth switching. Just make sure it's cheaper than the Rog Strix B650E-F, which is what I did!

Thanks for that tip! I found one that's priced lower than the Rog Strix, so I might just go with it.
