Should I Replace My MacBook Battery or Get a New Laptop?

I'm currently using a 2020 MacBook Pro and I know it needs a new battery. However, I'm trying to figure out whether I should just replace the battery or consider getting a new computer altogether. This is my first MacBook, so I'm not very familiar with the symptoms. Lately, the cooling fan has been running way more often, and the performance feels a bit sluggish. Any advice on how to decide? Thanks in advance!

Replacing the battery will definitely be cheaper than buying a new laptop. But first, you should check whether your MacBook has an Intel processor or an M series chip. If it's the M1, it's still a good machine overall, so a battery replacement might be all you need.

It really depends on your MacBook's processor. If it's one of the M series, you should be fine with just a battery replacement. But since you mentioned it has an Intel i5, you'd be looking at a decent upgrade if you do decide to buy a new one. Just weigh the costs based on how much use it still gets!
