I'm looking to upgrade my PC, mainly needing a new GPU. Currently, I have 32GB of RAM, but I'm considering selling one stick to drop down to 16GB and use the extra cash to contribute towards a new graphics card. Is this a good idea, or will the RAM downgrade hurt my system's performance?

If you're looking at Nvidia, an RTX 5060 Ti would be a solid choice, or check out the RX 9060 XT for AMD. Increasing your GPU will give you a massive performance boost without dumping your RAM.

Selling a stick to go down to 16GB isn’t a great move. You’d lose about 20% performance since running with a single stick isn’t as efficient. Plus, GPUs are easier to find these days, so there are plenty of options available without sacrificing your RAM.

Yeah, it's better to keep your RAM for performance, especially if you're gaming.

Honestly, upgrading your GPU is what you should focus on. There are great GPUs out there for good prices right now, so no need to sell off your RAM. It's not worth it in this economy!

Exactly! RAM is crucial for overall performance, better to keep it.
