Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my motherboard for my i7-12700KF, and I've currently got 32GB of DDR4 3600 CL18 RAM. I'm trying to decide whether it's worth spending an extra $100 to get a motherboard that supports DDR5 with some 6000-CL30 RAM, or if I should just go for a high-quality DDR4 motherboard instead. I mainly game at 1440p, so any input on this would be appreciated! Thanks!

Based on what I've seen, the performance gain from switching to DDR5 might only be around 1-10 fps at 1080p, and at 1440p it could be even less. For an extra $100, that doesn’t seem worth it to me. Stick with DDR4!
You might be right, but keep in mind that some games do show a noticeable difference. If I were you, I’d consider selling the DDR4 RAM to help cover the cost if you decide to upgrade.
