I picked up a 5060 Ti 16GB last year and I'm considering an upgrade to a 9070 to make my system more future-proof. The performance boost seems significant, and I've noticed that the 9070 offers the full 16GB of VRAM, unlike the 5070. Is it worth spending about a hundred extra dollars to make this upgrade?

It really depends on what you expect from your PC's performance. If you plan to play newer games at higher settings, upgrading could give you an advantage, but if you're happy with how things run now, it might not be necessary.
I don't agree with that last point; the 5070 definitely holds its own. Just keep in mind that the 12GB of VRAM can be a limitation if you're gaming above 1080p.
If you have the extra cash, I'd say go for it! The upgrade looks promising and definitely worth it for the performance boost you'll get.
If you're not interested in AI or machine learning performance, then I’d say upgrade. The 9070 will serve you better for gaming and future titles.
I'm curious where you're seeing only a hundred dollar difference? Prices have shot up recently, and I've seen them going over $850. It's worth checking multiple retailers to see what's available.
Many argue that the 5070 is more powerful overall despite having less VRAM, but it can lack behind the 5060 Ti in certain scenarios. Also, with AMD cards, you miss out on features like DLSS, so consider that too.
Honestly, that 5060 Ti 16GB is still performing well. If you’re not facing major issues, it might not justify the upgrade. You could look for a 9070 XT or even a 5070 Ti if you're really adamant about upgrading.

I found some listings that are still around the $700 mark, but yeah, prices have fluctuated a lot lately.
