Hey everyone! I recently had to replace my old 3070 Ti because it started malfunctioning after four years, and I swapped it out for an RTX 5070. My current setup includes a Ryzen 7 5800X CPU, 64GB of DDR4 RAM at 3200 MHz, and I'm gaming at 1440p. I initially thought the 5800X was still a solid choice and wouldn't bottleneck the 5070 too much. However, since money isn't a big concern, I'm contemplating whether I should fully upgrade to the Ryzen 9950X for better performance and to future-proof my system, especially for any workstation tasks. Do you think moving from the 5800X to the 9950X would significantly enhance my gaming experience at 1440p, or should I just wait it out for a couple more years for the next gen of CPUs? Thanks in advance for your insights!

For gaming, the upgrade might not be necessary right now. You can actually check if you’re CPU-limited in your games to get a clearer picture. If you're mostly gaming, I’d say hold off unless you have specific workstation tasks that require a stronger CPU.
Exactly! It makes sense to upgrade only when you need it for things like video editing or heavy workstation tasks.
