I'm considering an upgrade from my current 3060 Ti to a 5060 Ti. I'm curious if this upgrade makes sense with my current setup or if I should prioritize upgrading other components first. Here's what I have:
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G (12 CPUs) ~3.9GHz
- Motherboard: ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING II
- Power Supply: 650W
- Memory: 16GB

I suggest you think about moving to AM5 first. All new systems are shifting in that direction. Saving up for a complete rebuild might be wise. I transitioned from an AM4 with a 3060 Ti to an AM5 with a 5070 Ti, and it's been great!
If you're gaming at 1080p, the 5600G could limit your FPS a bit. Upgrading to a 5600X would significantly boost performance. Try to make sure your GPU runs close to 100% load for the best experience.
Going beyond the 5060 Ti could lead to some serious bottlenecking with your current CPU. I recommend upgrading to a regular 5600 or better to unlock the full capabilities of a stronger GPU.
Absolutely worth the upgrade! If you can only replace one part right now, make it the GPU. You're likely to see substantial gains!
Upgrading your GPU is fine, but keep in mind that your CPU might hold back the performance. You can always upgrade the CPU later if you need to, but don't stress too much about it right now.

Yeah, starting fresh on AM5 could be the best path. Maybe consider a new power supply too, depending on how old yours is.
