Hey all! I'm considering upgrading my GPU from a 3060 Ti to a 5080 because I've noticed some serious CPU spikes while playing Battlefield 6 beta. My CPU is a Ryzen 7 5800X, and it seems to be maxing out during gameplay. Given this, do you think it makes sense to upgrade my CPU as well, or will my current setup still work fine? I've included a link to my framerate stats from the game, but I don't have the best performance on low settings. Cheers!

Hey, I didn’t see a link for your FPS stats. What resolution, refresh rate, and graphic settings are you using? I'm curious why a 5800X would be hitting 100% load. Did you mean it's spiking at times?
I totally agree that the 5070 Ti is a smarter buy than the 5080. You'll definitely want to upgrade your CPU eventually, especially since the jump from a 3060 Ti to a 5070 Ti is significant. Just make sure to save up for AM5 if you decide to upgrade—upgrading anything in AM4 isn’t really worth it anymore.
Ok thanks for the advice
You really want to look for the best FPS per dollar, and the 5080 isn’t the most efficient choice out there. I’d suggest holding off on both the GPU and CPU upgrades for now. Wait for the next generation to come out, then upgrade everything at once for the best value.
Ok thanks for the info
Honestly, I'd recommend going for the 5070 Ti instead of the 5080. The performance increase is pretty minimal, around 15%, but the price jump can be hefty—30-70% more just isn’t worth it. If you want to boost your performance, a new CPU could help, but you might be fine as is. Just cap your FPS to avoid big dips in performance!

Terribly sorry! Here is the link: [Imgur](https://imgur.com/a/5Hk61v8). I'm using a 1440p monitor, and I'm not quite sure why my CPU usage was so high.
