Should I Upgrade My CPU and Motherboard or Go for a New GPU?

I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 4600G with an ASRock A520M-HVS motherboard and an RX 6500 XT graphics card. Despite having 32 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM and an NVMe SSD, I'm only getting around 180-200 FPS in Valorant on low settings, and my GPU usage barely reaches 30%. I've tried various fixes like wiping drivers, disabling overlays, and tweaking settings in the BIOS and Adrenalin, but it seems like the 4600G's performance is bottlenecking everything. I'm considering two upgrade options: 1) Switching to a Ryzen 5 5600X with a B550 motherboard to unlock PCIe 4.0 and gain some single-core performance for an estimated 10-15% FPS boost. 2) Upgrading to a better GPU like the RX 6600 or RTX 3060 along with a new power supply in the 550-600 W range while keeping my current setup. What do you think is the better route to go?

If you're upgrading to a new CPU and motherboard, you might want to consider moving to AM5 instead of sticking with AM4. This would set you up better for future upgrades. Otherwise, if you're looking to save, you can just update your BIOS to support the newer CPUs while keeping your current motherboard.

Great advice, thanks! I'll think about the long-term options.

If budget allows, consider the Ryzen 5 5600X with a 3060. PCIe 3.0 won't hold that GPU back much, plus you'd get a solid CPU performance boost, and you might not even need a new motherboard or power supply. Just make sure your PSU can handle it, usually between 250-300 watts at peak should work fine.

That sounds like a solid option, but I'm tight on cash for the 3060 right now.
