Should I Upgrade My CPU for Gaming?

I'm looking to boost my gaming performance by upgrading my CPU. Right now, I have a Ryzen 7 5700G on an AM4 socket paired with an RTX 3060 Ti 8GB graphics card, a Gigabyte 550 Gaming X V2 motherboard, and 32GB of DDR4 RAM running at 3200MHz. My power supply is 850W, and I bought everything in 2022. I'm hesitant to switch to AM5 due to the cost of new RAM. I'm considering two options: a used Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor priced around $500 or a new Ryzen 7 5800XT for about $250. I've heard there isn't a Ryzen 9 for gaming on AM4. What do you suggest?

I'm actually from Poland, so no MicroCenter for me! Just shared the prices in USD for reference.

Do you happen to have a MicroCenter nearby? They often have good deals on components.

What exactly is your PC struggling with? Do you think the 5800XT would solve your issues? And is it worth spending $250 on it? If you just want more FPS in games like heavily modded Minecraft or upcoming titles, you might need to consider if that investment is justified.

I'm mainly after boosting FPS for games like heavily modded Minecraft and some new releases without switching to AM5.

If you're willing to spend a bit more, I'd go for the Ryzen 5800X3D. The 5800XT won't give you a significant performance boost compared to what you have now.

If a used 5800X3D for $500 is on the table, I recommend selling your current DDR4 setup to fund an AM5 upgrade. With the money you get from selling your old parts, the price difference might not be that steep. The AM4 X3Ds might not be worth it anymore, and you could also look into LGA 1700 as another option, though it might be a bit tricky.
