Hey everyone! I have an Asus X571GD with a 1050ti, 4GB of RAM, and an Intel i5-8300H processor. I'm considering my options for a new laptop, but I came across a motherboard on eBay that has an i7-10750 and a GTX1650, along with a new battery, for $315. I'm wondering if this upgrade would be worth it or if I should just buy a new laptop instead. I'm not looking for something super powerful since it will mainly be used for office tasks and some casual gaming (like Valorant, CS, and indie games). What do you think?

If you don’t have experience with hardware upgrades, this could turn into a money pit. Not saying it’s impossible, but maybe check in with communities like Asus forums or r/laptops for more insights before diving in. It might save you some hassle!
Upgrading the motherboard can be pretty tough—like, way tougher than it looks. It's not just plug and play. You might end up having to buy a whole new laptop instead, which could be easier and more effective.
Why do you think it's so tough? Is it something specific about the parts?
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll look into those communities.
