Should I Upgrade My Current PC or Buy a New One?

I'm considering upgrading my setup since my boyfriend recently got a 7800X3D. However, I'm wondering if it would just be simpler to buy a new PC entirely. If upgrading is the way to go, what specific parts should I get? Right now, I'm using a CyberPowerPC with a Ryzen 7 5700 and a GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, and I just upgraded my RAM to 32GB DDR4. After paying someone to tweak my PC, I'm experiencing worse performance with my FPS drops in Fortnite, where I aim for a stable 240 FPS. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

That setup should handle Fortnite without any issues. Before you start upgrading, did you have these FPS drops before you upgraded your RAM? You might have other background processes affecting your performance—try shutting those down to see if it helps.

I had similar issues before and realized my settings were too high for my setup. Dropping my settings to 1080p with lower graphics helped a lot!

Honestly, right now, it's often easier and cheaper to get a good pre-built system instead of upgrading parts individually. The prices for high-end graphics cards have skyrocketed, and sometimes a full system can cost less than the individual components you'll need. If you decide to upgrade, focus on the GPU because that's where you'll see significant performance boosts.

Yeah, it’s a tough market out there. I recently looked into a prebuilt and found I could have saved a fortune compared to buying components individually. It’s wild!

So true! Just be careful with pre-builts, sometimes they use lower-quality parts that aren't great for upgrades later.

Also, what kind of monitor are you using? I saw you mentioned a 240Hz model, which is awesome for gaming, but make sure your settings are optimized to match that refresh rate for the best experience.

Yeah, I checked the model and it looks good! Just make sure you’re running the right settings to take full advantage of that monitor.

Buying pre-built can limit your choices on quality parts. If you decide to build, maybe check out this guide for start-up parts: [build guide](https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/377Ycf/magnificent-amd-gamingstreaming-build). Since you’re working with a 5700X and 4060 Ti, try to cut costs by reusing some parts if you go this route! Also, check out your game settings—dropping some to low can improve FPS significantly.

I’ll definitely look into that! I think some tweaks could make a big difference for me.
