Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on whether I should go for a new GPU right now or take it slow and do a progressive upgrade. My Nvidia 3080 recently died, and I'm using a 1080 Ti as a backup for now, but I'd love to upgrade without breaking the bank. My current setup includes an AM4 motherboard (Asus Crosshair 8), a Ryzen 5600 processor, and 16GB of RAM. I had plans to upgrade the GPU and RAM before my 3080 failure. I checked my local PC store here in Australia and found some 5060s available, but they're not too appealing. They've got limited 5070 OC editions as well, but I worry that if I invest in a new GPU, my current setup might bottleneck it. Any suggestions on the best path forward? And if there are good budget AMD cards, I'd love to explore those too. I'm open to upgrading over time if needed!

I think you should grab a new GPU now and upgrade the CPU later. Even if you go with a 5070, it’ll still be faster than the 3080 on an AM4 motherboard. If you can find a 9070 for around the same price as the 5070, definitely go for that instead!
Do you think the AM4 motherboard will hold up? I was considering upgrading to a 5700X3D later along with the GPUs you mentioned. I haven't used AMD GPUs much, but I'm starting to think Nvidia's recent releases haven't been all that great.
