Hey everyone! I have an older PC setup and I'm debating whether I should upgrade it piece by piece or just bite the bullet and buy a completely new one. My current specs are: Intel i7 4790K processor, GTX 970 graphics card, and 16GB of DDR3 RAM. What do you think would be the best approach?

I would suggest going for a completely new build. Your hardware is around eleven years old, and while the i7 4790K was solid back in the day, it's just not cutting it anymore. A new rig could really improve your gaming experience!

The i7 4790K is still a decent processor, but paired with a GTX 970, it’s really holding you back. If you sell everything as a complete PC, you could get some cash for a new build. Just worth considering what your new budget might be!

Technically, you could upgrade certain parts like the GPU, but you're still looking at diminishing returns since the CPU and RAM are outdated too. You might barely see any performance improvement. Consider a new setup!

That makes a lot of sense, thanks for the insight!

Honestly, with how old your setup is, it might be best to just go for a whole new PC. The components are quite outdated, and building fresh could save you from constant upgrades later.
