Hey everyone! I bought a prebuilt PC from NZXT around five years ago, and while it still works fine for some games, it's really starting to struggle with newer titles, especially Arc Raiders. I'm wondering if I should just upgrade a few parts to boost performance or if it's better to invest in a completely new PC. Money isn't a huge issue, but I'm aware that prebuilt systems can be quite pricey. Here are my main specs:
- Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (8-core, 3.6GHz)
- RAM: T-force Vulcan Z 16GB (3200 MHz)
I can provide more specs if needed, but I think these are the key components. What do you all think?

Why not upgrade your GPU to something decent that you could also use in a new build? It could give you a good performance boost even with your current setup.
I upgraded from a 3800X and a 2070 Super to a 5700X3D and a 4070 Ti a few months back. Now I’m getting around 120-150 FPS in Arc Raiders with everything set to low and some optimization tweaks. I'm using DLSS performance mode at 1080p, which definitely helps too.
You can definitely upgrade to at least a 5700X or a faster CPU, and also look into a new GPU like the 5060 or 5070. Your RAM could use an upgrade too to keep up with more demanding games like Arc Raiders. A solid AM4 setup should be able to run it well!
From what I've heard, Arc Raiders can be pretty CPU-intensive. It might be beneficial for you to upgrade your CPU first, especially if you're not sure how your current CPU is performing while gaming. Upgrading the RAM and GPU would also help, but just make sure your power supply can handle a new GPU. I’d recommend looking for a used 5000-series x3D CPU if you can find one. Also, consider bumping your RAM to a 32GB kit for better performance—it could really make a difference!
