Should I Upgrade to a PS5 or Build a Gaming PC?

I've been thinking about upgrading from my PS4 to a more powerful gaming system, and I'm trying to decide between a PS5 and a gaming PC. My main focus is playing games like GTA 6 (whenever it comes out), CS2, Fortnite, and Apex Legend. I've been looking at the combination of an R5 5600 and a 5060 Ti with 8GB of RAM. Is this a good setup, or are there better alternatives at a similar price? I understand that the 5600 might slightly bottleneck the GPU. If it comes down to it, I'd just buy a PS5, but that's not my first choice since there are some games I want to play that aren't available on it, like GunZ duels.

Consider looking at the used market for PCs. You can find good deals on pre-built systems on platforms like eBay or Facebook Marketplace. Or pick up individual parts if you're comfortable assembling it yourself. It could save you a lot of cash.

I wouldn't plan on building a PC right now, especially with GTA 6 not expected on PC until 2028. It might be best to wait or reassess your options later on. But if you're looking for a PC, I'd suggest checking out what resolution you want to game at too.

The specs you're thinking of sound good, but just remember, you really need at least 16GB of RAM for high-end gaming nowadays. That 8GB is going to be limiting. Just so you know, I also lean towards PCs because they offer greater flexibility than consoles. Just keep that in mind on your choice.

That's a solid point! 16GB will definitely give you better performance, especially for demanding games.

I watched some comparisons between the PS5 and building a PC, and honestly, if gaming is your main goal, a PS5 or even a PS5 Pro might be the better option after all. Sure, building a PC is fun, but it gets pricey really fast. If you’re looking for variety in games and more utility, then a PC makes sense, but you’ll be paying more for that performance.
