I'm considering upgrading my PC and am eyeing the AM5 platform, but I haven't been able to save enough yet. With RAM prices skyrocketing, I doubt they'll stabilize anytime soon. Instead, I'm thinking about upgrading to a Ryzen 7 5700X and an MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 5060 Ti (16GB).
Would it be a good idea to go for this upgrade now, or should I just hold off until the AM6 platform is released or until the pricing bubble bursts? I typically play MMOs like FFXIV and WoW, which currently push my system to high temperatures (around 80°C for the GPU and 75°C+ for the CPU). I also want to dive into Cyberpunk 2077 and need to use this setup for Photoshop and Illustrator for college.
My budget for this upgrade is between $800 and $1100 USD. Here's my current build for reference.

Definitely go for the upgrade! With those specs, you should handle 1440p gaming without issues. I just built a system with DDR4 due to the price hikes and I’m really enjoying it. It should last me until AM6 without any hiccups!
I think upgrading to the 5700X is a solid choice! It's powerful enough to last you a couple of years, and when AM6 eventually drops, AM5 parts will likely see a price drop. I upgraded from a 2600X to a 5700X and it has worked wonders for me!

I usually game at 1080p, but 1440p sounds enticing! I'll have to look into getting a decent AIO cooler too.
