I'm currently running an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D with a 7800XT, two 1TB SSDs, and a B550M motherboard. I've got 16GB of RAM at 3600 CL, and I'm gaming at 1440p with a target of 180Hz. I've maxed out what I can on AM4, but I'm considering an upgrade. I'm thinking about getting a 9070XT and maybe a 9800X3D to run games on ultra settings. I'm looking for recommendations on whether to upgrade everything to AM5 since money isn't an issue. How can I ensure I hit 180+ FPS in AAA titles?

If your goal is to max out at 1440p, I’d suggest keeping the 5700X3D for now, since it won’t hold back an RTX 5070 Ti. If you can wait, consider saving up for the RTX 5070 Super; it's expected to drop in December and should offer more VRAM for the same price. Also, I recommend upgrading to 32GB of RAM. Many games currently eat up to 16GB.
If money is no problem, just go for the latest tech. It’ll save you from second-guessing your choice later on.
Makes sense bro, cheers.
Recent tests from Techspot showed that while sticking with the 5800X3D might limit performance a bit at 1440p in certain games, it’s still a good CPU. You can check their review for more insights on how it compares with the new GPUs.
I’m kind of upset by this news. I thought the upgrade would be huge. I noticed significant gains moving from the 5600X to the 5700X3D. Is there a way to guarantee 180 FPS minimum on 1440p ultra?
You might want to grab the 9070XT now and then consider upgrading to AM5 during Black Friday sales. The 5700X3D is still pretty solid and will serve you well for now.
Ooo got you. GPU now and the rest at Black Friday on sale. Might as well save what I can. Cheers.

So would you say that 16GB RAM isn’t enough?
