I'm currently running a Ryzen 7 5800XT with a 5070Ti and 64GB of RAM. I enjoy playing games like The First Descendant, BF6, and Ark: ASA. I'm looking to max out my AM4 build but can't decide between the 5700X3D and the 5800X3D. Most of my research suggests that the 5700X3D is cheaper and only slightly less powerful than the 5800X3D, but I'm uncertain which option is best for my needs.

Switching to AM5 might be the way to go, even though it's definitely more expensive. The general vibe I’m getting is to hold out for price cuts and get something that’ll last you for years. Good upgrades are coming, just need a bit of patience!
Upgrading from a 5800X to the 5700X3D won't result in a huge difference, and the 5800X3D is pretty pricey right now. I'd suggest saving that cash and waiting until you can afford to shift to AM5 instead; it's a more future-proof option.
I've spotted a couple of 5800X3Ds at reasonable prices that won’t break the bank. Is the X3D really that much better than the XT?

Yeah, it seems like everyone agrees on that! But it is a significant jump in cost compared to just upgrading my current setup.
