Hey everyone! I've got a Ryzen 5 5600X and an RX 7800 XT with 32GB of RAM, and I'm considering an upgrade. I'm looking at the 5700X3D, which is priced at about £200, but I could also snag a used 5800X3D for around £300. My main need for a better CPU is for iRacing since it really gets CPU-heavy with lots of cars on screen. I'm also pondering the possibility of moving to AM5, but I don't want to spend a ton on a new motherboard and RAM unless it's truly worth it. What's your advice? Is the upgrade even necessary?

Go for the 5700X3D if you want to keep costs down. AM5 is worth considering, but sticking with the 5700X3D could be a more economical option right now.
I switched from a 5600X to the 5700X3D and noticed a huge difference, especially in open-world games and even in CS, so I think it’s a solid choice!
If you’re focusing on iRacing, the gains from the 5800X3D are worth considering. It outperforms the 5600X by about 40% in CPU-limited scenarios, especially in terms of average and minimum frame times. Just to let you know, the 5700X3D is about 4-5% slower, so you’d save £100 but possibly lose some performance in those intense moments!
Nice, I've just pulled the trigger on the 5700X3D! Amazon says it’ll arrive today!
The 5700X3D is about 66% of the price of the 5800X3D, but performance-wise, it's only 5-10% behind. If you're looking to save some cash, going for the 5700X3D might be smart!
Got it, so the 5700X3D is the way to go, especially since I'm coming from a 5600X?
The extra cores on the 5800X3D do provide a performance boost, but you've got to decide if the extra £100 is worth the up to 10% more frames you’d get from it.
Not much to add, but I've been using the 5800X3D and it's been smooth sailing for me across all games—no complaints!
That's great to hear! Just a bummer, though—where I live, the 5800X3D is really hard to find.
