Hi everyone! I have a 2020 MacBook Air with an Intel processor, and after encountering some major fan issues and overheating, I accidentally wiped the entire device, including the recovery partition. I read that Macs can reinstall the recovery partition via the internet, but that hasn't worked for me. Now I'm looking for some guidance on how to proceed.
I see I have two main options:
Option A is to boot using a bootable MacOS USB, which I understand should automatically mount on my Mac.
Option B is to boot from a Live Linux USB, which I've heard some people prefer for repair purposes, but I know I would need to manually mount this one.
I'm curious about the pros and cons of each method. Why would someone choose the Live Linux USB if it requires manual mounting, especially since the MacOS USB automounts? I'd really appreciate a clearer explanation of both options and the mounting process involved with the Live Linux USB. Thank you!

Actually, Macs have an Internet Recovery Mode that can let you reinstall the OS even if you've wiped it completely. You just need to restart your Mac and hold Option-Command-R until it boots into recovery. Once there, you can connect to Wi-Fi and reinstall your Mac's operating system.

Thanks! I’ll try that again; I keep getting a globe with an exclamation point after waiting a while.
