I'm currently using a Ryzen 5600X along with an RTX 3060 and I've got 32GB of DDR4 RAM. I'm aiming for a consistent 400-500 FPS in VALORANT, which is a CPU-heavy game, but I'm struggling to hit those numbers. Upgrading to AM5 is looking really expensive right now, so I believe it makes more sense to stick with my 32GB DDR4 to save some cash.
I've considered getting a 5800X3D, but it's tough to find in my area. Instead, I'm thinking about upgrading to an Intel 14700K and swapping out my motherboard and cooling. Would this be a good move? Are there any important factors I should consider?

Keep this in mind: CPU degradation can happen, so make sure to update the BIOS as soon as you get the new setup. The 14700K won't have 3D V-Cache, which means it might struggle a bit with consistent frame pacing compared to the 5800X3D. It can match average FPS but might have those low dips. It might be worth talking to other VALORANT players who use Intel CPUs to get their perspectives.
Are you sure you really need a constant 400-500 FPS? Would something between 200-300 FPS work just fine for you? Unless you're aiming for pro eSports, I doubt your hardware is what's holding you back.
I have a 400Hz monitor and play against T2 level players. It's not just about the numbers; it's about minimizing input delay and ensuring my PC runs smoothly to maximize the monitor's potential.

Actually, I've seen benchmarks where the lows on the 14700K outperform the 5800X3D significantly! You might be pleasantly surprised by its performance.
