I just received my Gigabyte X870 motherboard from Newegg, but the box wasn't sealed at all. It looked like there was no seal, and the motherboard itself was inside an anti-static bag held together with what seems like scotch tape. It also came with a SATA cable, a front I/O adapter, and two sealed packages containing a single screw each. Is this the standard way motherboards are packaged? It's been a while since I purchased a new motherboard, so I'm not sure if this is normal.

Yeah, that's pretty normal. It's surprising, but motherboards often come like that without a seal on the box.
I had a similar experience with my $900 GPU from Best Buy that wasn't sealed. The GPU itself was in a sealed bag, but the box was open. Same with my Asus motherboard. It's just one of those oddities in packaging, I guess.
The tape is designed to be tamper-evident, so it's really tough to peel off cleanly. There's nothing to worry about; it’s a common practice.
Thanks for the info!
That's definitely how most boards are shipped these days, so you’re not alone in your confusion.
Thank you for clarifying!
