I recently opened up my HP Omen 16 to clean it and also wanted to add an extra SSD. Unfortunately, the screw holding the SSD in place was way too tight, and I ended up stripping it. Now the screw head is smooth, and I know there are tools that can help in removing it, but I'm worried it's going to be a hassle. Since my laptop is still under warranty, including accidental warranty, I'm wondering if HP can help me out by opening it up and adding the SSD for me. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do?

Those tiny SSD screws can be really frustrating! It's a poor design choice in many laptops. When I faced a similar issue, I managed to carefully drill out the screw using a drill bit that was slightly smaller than the screw head. After removing the SSD, I used pliers to get the rest of the screw out. Just a heads up, though—opening your laptop may void the warranty, especially since you've already damaged the screw.
Oh thanks! I might try this drilling trick.
