Hey everyone,
I'm a 3rd-year CSE student feeling really lost and in need of guidance. I'm aware that time is running out as I head into my 5th semester, and I want to make a change before it's too late. Here's where I currently stand:
- My CGPA is 6.7, but I've had some backlogs that I need to clear.
- I haven't started learning Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) at all, and my programming skills are pretty weak.
- I've wasted a lot of time due to procrastination and not having a clear direction.
With only a year left until placements, I'm determined to turn things around. This semester, I'm studying subjects like Machine Learning, Computer Networks, Software Engineering, and more. I've chosen Data Science as my elective, and I'm thinking of focusing on Machine Learning, but I realize I need a solid base first. I want to know:
- Where should I start to learn DSA from scratch while also diving into ML?
- How can I juggle DSA, ML, my college subjects, and projects effectively?
- Any good free resources or YouTube channels that helped you?
- Any tips for building consistency and making the most of this year?
I truly want to fix my academic path and not waste another year. Thanks for your support!

It sounds like you might need to focus on honing your study skills first. Have you looked into support services at your college? They can offer help to better manage your studies and time. Sometimes just knowing how to study effectively can change your game.
Thanks for the suggestion! I'm actually doing okay when I study, but I really need clarity on what to focus on. I feel overwhelmed with all the options like ML, DSA, and full stack development. Any thoughts on prioritizing these?
