Struggling to Access BIOS on My New Build—Any Ideas?

I recently built a new PC featuring a Ryzen 5 5500 CPU, RX 7600 XT GPU, and an ASUS Prime B550A AC motherboard, accompanied by 32GB of RAM and a Samsung 990 SSD. However, I'm having trouble accessing the BIOS. The system beeps four times continuously. I tried to update the BIOS via a USB drive by renaming the file, but that only led to nine beeps, and now I'm back to the four beeps again. What steps can I take to troubleshoot this and get my PC up and running?

I just looked it up, and according to the ASUS documentation, four beeps usually point to a hardware problem. The big question is whether it's because your BIOS cannot recognize the CPU due to it being outdated, or if there's an installation problem. Double-check all connections—sometimes it's a matter of a component not being seated correctly.

First off, those beeps you're hearing are error codes that can tell you what's wrong. Check the ASUS website or the manual for your motherboard to decode them. Typically, four beeps could indicate a hardware issue related to the RAM or CPU. Also, listen carefully to the beep pattern—it can offer clues too! Ensure you look for any lights on the motherboard as well; they might indicate specific component errors like problems with the PCIe or CPU connections.
