I've been trying to sell websites for about a month now, and so far, I haven't managed to sell a single one. I've been learning backend development and APIs to make the sites functional, and I've been reaching out to local businesses to see if they'd be interested. Unfortunately, most don't respond, and those who do often go silent after I share a link to the site on GitHub. Does anyone have tips or advice for selling websites more effectively?

Make sure what you're offering has real value. If you're still learning and the quality isn't there, businesses may not see the need for a website at all. Try approaching businesses that actually need a web presence first.
Consider putting yourself in the shoes of business owners. Think about what might make them hesitant to buy from someone who's still learning. You might need to show more credibility, like having previous work or client reviews to build trust.
It sounds like you've got a long way to go! Reaching out to cold leads is tough, and it may take more time and effort than you're currently putting in. Just be prepared for the grind ahead.
I've been running a web agency since 2003, and I've learned that selling sites isn’t easy. You might need to prepare to make a ton of calls. For instance, my telemarketers make about 200 calls a day, and it typically takes that many to land even one client. It’s a numbers game, so keep that in mind!
That’s a sobering statistic! It really shows how challenging this can be.
Networking can make a big difference. Most of my opportunities have come from referrals and connections. Try to build relationships rather than just cold selling.

Exactly! Trust is key. If they think you’re just coding for fun, they won't take you seriously.
