I've recently upgraded my storage from a SATA drive to an NVMe drive and installed Windows 11. Initially, I was running on a local account because I didn't have drivers for my Wi-Fi dongle. Everything seemed fine at first, and I even managed to tie my Windows license to my Microsoft account later on. However, I'm now facing a significant issue. Windows Security on the taskbar has an exclamation mark warning and keeps prompting me to sign into my Microsoft account. Additionally, apps like the Microsoft Store, Xbox, and Minecraft all require this login. When I try to log in, I either encounter an error or get caught in a loop, repeatedly being asked for my password. I also saw a prompt in account settings for account verification that wouldn't work; it just kept looping back after I entered my info. I reverted back to a local account but now can't even log in at all, despite it previously recognizing my email as my username. This problem also existed on my previous Windows installation, but my laptop, which is using the same Microsoft account, isn't having this issue. I'm not sure if setting up a local account during installation caused this or if there's leftover data on my motherboard. My BIOS has been updated, and I've reset the CMOS. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You might want to check if there was a recent Azure outage because I've seen similar issues when there were problems on their end. Sometimes this can lead to login errors and you might just keep getting redirected. You might want to look that up!
Just a heads up, if you’re using a local account, it won’t grant access to Microsoft services like Xbox or Office. You need to log in with your Microsoft account for those. Try logging into your PC with an admin account and check the user settings to ensure your Microsoft account is enabled. After that, you can transfer your files over if needed.
I totally get that, and I do want to use my Microsoft account. But every time I try to log in, I put in the correct info and it just loops back to the password prompt. It's really frustrating!

I haven't noticed anything about an Azure outage lately, but could that really cause a sign-in loop? I thought it was more about the local vs. Microsoft account setup.
