Struggling with FPS on PUBG after GPU Upgrade – What’s Going Wrong?

Hey everyone! I just added an RTX 5060 to my system that has a Ryzen 5 5600G, but I'm not getting the performance I expected. I watched some gameplay tests on YouTube with the same setup and my results are way off. For instance, when playing PUBG on low graphics settings, I'm only hitting about 100 FPS, with my CPU maxed out at 100% and my GPU barely at 40%. I've formatted my system and ensured all drivers are up to date. Do you think my CPU is defective, or is there something else I should look into?

Honestly, the benchmarks you're seeing are likely from setups that had more powerful CPUs. The 5600G can struggle with more demanding titles, especially at higher settings. Consider upgrading to a higher performance CPU, like the 5700X or 3900X, to see if that helps boost performance.

First off, make sure your monitor is actually connected to the GPU, not the motherboard. If it's connected to the motherboard, you're still using the integrated GPU (iGPU) instead of the RTX 5060. This alone could be causing the performance issues you’re experiencing.

Another thing to consider is that the Ryzen 5600G operates on PCIe 3.0 while the RTX 5060 needs PCIe 5.0 x8 for optimal performance. If your motherboard doesn't support that, the GPU won't run at its full speed capabilities, leading to lower FPS overall.

I think your Ryzen 5600G might be bottlenecking the RTX 5060 a bit. Since your CPU hits 100% while the GPU is only at 40%, it sounds like the games are struggling to utilize the GPU's full potential. You should also check that the integrated GPU is disabled in the BIOS to avoid any conflicts.
